Barbara Boicourt graduated with a Bachelor's degree in
Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and
has worked as head graphic artist for Curizon Promotional
Graphics in Omaha since 1981. Awards for her artwork include
"a top prize in the Town & Country Arts Show for a
photograph called Frida and Me, inspired by one of my favorite
artists, Frida Kahlo." She adds, "My photo-montage work
involves layering several images together using many various
filters to create the textures, depth, and mood that I am trying
to achieve. Many times I take my current digital photographs
and blend them with bits and pieces of my archived print
work thus letting the viewer embrace not only the present,
but also gain a sense of the past through altered images. You
