Howard V. Hendrix has written, directed, and produced plays, and published scholarly pieces, including the book The Ecstasy of Catastrophe: A Study of Apocalyptic Narrative from Langland to Milton (Peter Lang, 1990). His fiction has appeared in various markets, including Full Spectrum #1 and #4, Amazing Stories, Aboriginal SF, Pulphouse, Starshore, TOTU #4, and Testing, Testing, l, 2, 3, a short collection of his more experimental fiction (the EOTU Group, 1990). He recently finished a play, The Bodhisattva of Drowning, and a novel of the year 2020, Lightpaths, and is writing a novel of the twentysecond century, A Change of Worlds. Having been variously employed in Ohio, Missouri, and California as a fish hatchery manager, teaching assistant, furniture mover, disc jockey, administrative intern, writing instructor, lecturer, and assistant professor, Hendrix left the professorial in May 1990 to devote full time to creative and scholarly writing - though he still finds time to teach an occasional college class. He lives in Clovis, California with his wife Laurel, their computers, and their cats. |
