Carrie E. Rouillard and Brian Wightman write, "We are a husband-and-wife pair. When we write together, Brian is the horse and Carrie is the reins. The story won't get where it's going without Carrie, but it won't get anywhere without Brian. By day Brian coordinates- a support team for a community mental health agency. Carrie is a former case manager who, through the grace of federal budget cuts, may now pursue her painting career full time. We live in a brick Victorian on a bluff over Barre, Vermont, which is the granite capitol of the world. A third of all the tombstones in America are quarried up the street from us." |
