Cezarija Abartis: |
(07/02/2003) |
Cezarija Abartis was born in Germany of Lithuanian parents, grew up in Pittsburgh, and lives in Minnesota with one husband and two cats. Her stories have appeared in Twilight Zone Magazine, The Quarterly, Manna, Whetstone, and other magazines unavailable in fine drugstores near you. An earlier version of "On Grandmother's Farm" appeared in All-Story Extra (issue 15) the on-line supplement to Zoetrope (www.zoetrope-stories.com). She teaches in the English Department of St. Cloud State University. The teacher part of her wants you to know she worked real hard on this story: the first draft was begun more than ten years ago. The writer part is relieved it's finally published. The editor part is already planning revisions. Her first collection of short stories, Nice Girls and Other Stories, has just been published (April 2003) by New Rivers Press (www.newriverspress.com) at Minnesota State U at Moorhead. |
