Martha A. Hood:
(04/01/2010) Martha A. Hood lives in Irvine, California. This is the 25th issue of TOTU in which her work has appeared. She writes, "My credits remain the same as last issue, and I continue to work on the novel. When not writing, I work around the house, which abounds with termites and dust, as well as endless possibilities for improvements. I help out at UCI arboretum, where I am learning binomial taxonomy, which is surprisingly interesting to me. I also waste time watching TV and drinking coffee with my friends. 'Personal Jesus' was (obviously) inspired by the Johnny Cash recording made right before he left us. My husband, Mike, found the song online and brought it to my attention. My daughter, Michelle, found 'Hurt,' a Nine Inch Nails cover from the same album, America IV—The Man Comes Around. Check it out."
