Damon Knight founded the National Fantasy Fan Federation and the Science Fiction Writers of America (SFWA). He has been a science fiction illustrator, worked for a literary agency, translated French science fiction, edited many superior SF reprint anthologies (including A Science Fiction Argosy) and the distinguished Orbit series of original anthologies. He is the foremost science fiction critic, has been an instructor at both the Milford and Clarion science fiction writing workshops, and has written several of the field's finest stories, notably "Masks," "To Serve Man," and "The Country of the Kind." He is married to Kate Wilhelm, lives in Eugene, Oregon, and is writing a sequel to hi 1985 novel, CV. |
