Ka Vang lives in the Twin Cities. Her work has appeared in
Bamboo Among the Oaks, the Pat Noub Voice, and other publications.
She is the very first Hmong author to be included
in the classic Asian American anthology Charlie Chan is
Dead 2: At Home in the World, edited by Jessica Hagedorn.
She is also the author of the plays Disconnect, Dead Calling,
and From Shadows to Light, which have been performed at
venues such as the College of St. Catherine, the Playwrights'
Center, and Mixed Blood Theater (through MU Performing
Arts). She has been a recipient of numerous awards and fellowships
for her writing both as a journalist and a creative
writer, and she has helped mentor and guide emerging writers
and students in Minnesota, Wisconsin, California, and
across the country through workshops, classes, conferences,
and special programs. |
